In other words, it is very wise to wash exercise clothes as soon as possible after use. If for some reason you do not have the opportunity to wash them right away, you should try to avoid putting it together with the rest of the laundry, and rather hang them up so that they can breathe a little.

We strongly recommend that you wash your training clothes separately so that you avoid them discoloration , and that the smell spreads to your other clothes.

What detergent

What kind detergent one wearer can have a lot to say for how long the training clothes keep their quality. First of all, it is important to mention that one should definitely avoid detergent in powder form, and it is rather recommended to use liquid detergent on your workout clothes. There is a risk that the powder will not be washed out properly, which can wear out the fabric. That said, there are various detergents that are designed for washing of training clothes . Today's detergents are able to clean tights at a lower temperature, so you do not necessarily have to worry that the clothes will not get rid of the smell of sweat. If the training clothes contain some wool, they should be washed with special detergent som milo.

You may want to rinse your workout clothes cold water before washing it, to remove salt and other residues that have accumulated.

Which washing program should I use?

Most washing machines have one sports program , and it is recommended to use this because it is fine-tuned for training clothes , and in this way the garment is washed more efficiently. Some washing machines do not have such a program and then we recommend using the synthetic cycle, as the function is quite similar.

How many degrees should I use?

One of the reasons why exercise clothes still smell sour after washing is because it is usually washed on for low heat . It is always recommended to check the label and follow washing instructions on the training clothes. Tight-fitting garments asunderwear andtights should actually be washed on 60 degrees for one hygienic washing. The problem is that this can damage the fabric and some training clothes are marked with a lower temperature. You will often find that it says 40 degrees on the tights, of which some models can only withstand 30 degrees . Despite this, it will always be safest to choose the sports program at 40 degrees or a synthetic program at 30 degrees with a detergent that is specifically selected for training clothes.

Fabric softener and dryer?

Fabric softener or fabric softener is not recommended to wear on training clothes as these clothes are usually made of more technical and functional materials that are water repellent and breathing . The breathable material is finely woven fabric fibers, and a possible fabric softener can risk affecting both the breathability and the water-repellent material of the garment. Although it works great on regular clothing, it is not a good idea to use on training clothes. The biggest mistake people make when washing their workout clothes is to use fabric softener, because it intensifies the smell of sweat. Unless otherwise stated on the washing instructions on the garment,we do not recommend the use of fabric softener on training clothes.

Exercise clothes should not enter the dryer . Technical training clothes often have materials that are breathable, water-repellent, elastic and stretchy. These properties make such clothes very vulnerable to incorrect treatment, and it does not take much before you risk destroying the functionality of the training clothes. In other words, high spin and the use of a dryer can ruin the stretch in your workout clothes. For that reasonwe strongly recommend that you do not put your training clothes in the dryer, and rather let them hang on that clothes rack or on a clothesline.
